Since 2015, the "Peace and Love International School" has been renovated to such an extent that it can be used as a temporary solution to enable the current 65 schoolchildren to attend classes. However, the building is damaged and there is not enough space in the building meaning that the children would have to change schools when they get older.
That is why we are helping to build a new school. The new building will house 18 classes, each with space for around 31 students. There will also be a large assembly hall. The new school should enable the children to stay at the same school after primary school and to graduate.
The donations currently collected with a total amount of 22.000 EUR have already helped to make a number of stages of the construction possible. The team at the school currently consists of 5 teachers, the headmistresses Afua Sakyiwaa and Ama Afriyie and the bus driver who takes the children to school in the school's own bus.
The total cost of building the school lies at around 150.000 EUR. We need every donation, no matter how small, to be able to continue building the school. However, donations are not only needed for the construction of the school, but also for the employment of qualified teachers and for the purchase of school materials.
You can either donate a one-time individual sum to our organisation or become a member by donating a predetermined monthly amount to support us in our mission.
As already described, 65 children currently attend the Peace and Love International School. When the new building is completed, it should be possible to educate almost 660 students.
There are many young and/or single mothers living in Kumasi who are in urgent need of financial help. To support them, you can sponsor a child. By sponsoring a child for 150 euros a year, you enable a child to attend school for a whole year and receive two meals a day. This is an incredible relief and great support for the mothers.
At this time, 20 families are being supported by our organisation through the sponsorship of their child.
In addition to monetary donations, you can also support the school with school materials and the poor families with clothes and toys for their children.
Our organisation makes donations in kind about twice a year, which are then sent to Ghana. We will announce these initiatives for you here at an early stage.
